چکیده

This paper investigates bending and compressive strengths as mechanical characteristics of cement-based repair mortar containing nano-silica (NS) micro-silica (SF) cement replacements particles polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers. The mentioned materials were added to the in three different conditions, including single (just one material), binary (mixture two admixtures), ternary all admixtures) modes. use PVA fibers, triple combination a is primary objective current research. In total, 28 mix designs with various percentages fiber employed study, 112 specimens prepared conduct experimental flexural strength results have been selected criteria for obtaining optimum design each condition. order specify specimens, test was carried out according ACI 318, three-point utilized BS EN 1015-11. obtained from this study show that mixture 10% silica fume (SF10) can be considered single-mode For such design, increase 27% improvement 48% determined comparison reference design. at 2% 8% (NS2SF8) mode With 24% 49% 28-day specimen recorded. Finally, under condition, enhancement 3.5% 4.6% obtained. Additionally, content 0.75% an SF (PVA0.75SF10) optimum.

Investigating the Performance Characteristics of Asphaltic Concrete Containing Nano-Silica

Using nano-technology materials in the asphalt pavement industry is new compared with Portland cement concrete. The main objective of this study is to investigate the effects of nano-silica modification on some properties of a penetration grade asphalt cement and a typical asphalt concrete. 60/70 penetration grade bitumen was modified with different percentages of nano-silica (i.e. 1, 3 and 5%,...

Influence of Micro and Nano Silica on Mechanical Properties of Plasticized Sulfur Composites

In this paper the influence of two different sizes of silica particles (micro-silica and nano-silica) was studied on mechanical properties of sulfur and sulfur composite. To improve the structural properties, sulfur was plasticized using dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) and methyl styrene (MSt). Plasticized sulfur composite was prepared by melt blending of plasticized sulfur and silica particles. T...

Experimental Study of the Combined Use of Fiber and Nano Silica Particles on the Properties of Lightweight Self Compacting Concrete

In fiber concretes, microcracks in the boundary area between the cement paste and the surface of aggregates or fibers are higher. Natural and artificial pozzolans can be used for reinforcing this area. In this research, the combination of glass fiber, zeolite, and nano silica particles were used in lightweight self-compacting concrete containing scoria. Fiber volume fractions between 0% to 1.5%...
